I have been doing taxidermy for 8 years prior to coming
to Rocky Mountain School. The caping and skinning
class that is taught here at the school is great. It is very
informative and teaches you everything you need to
know to prepare you for the backcountry. Phil & Deb
& Jeff are great instructors. I was very surprised at how
much they can teach you in a short time. What surprised
me the most was how much horsemanship they teach
here. when I arrived here at the school I thought I knew
something about horses, but I didn't have a clue. They
taught me so much here at R.M.S.. I even feel confident
to start training my own horses to ride.

My name is Cody O'Dell, I am Mathew's sponsored,
proffessional archer, and avid hunter. I have been shooting
a bow since the tender age of five. My life long dream has
always been to one day become a highly gualified hunting
guide. I was fortunate enough April of 2003 to attend
Rocky Mountain School. This experience was absolutely a
dream come true.
Phil & Deb Page welcomed me treated me like family. Jeff
Stein is also a tremendous teacher and leader. He always
pushed me to be the best I could be. At first, I was
mesmerized by all of the majestical scenery surrounding me.
Then, I began to learn about the safety guidelines and
precautions. Next, I was introduced to the daily routines
and procedures.
When I first arrived at the school, I knew very little about
horses, packing and guiding in general; however, after
weeks of rigorous training practice, I was ready to use the
skills that R.M.S. provided me with. The last week at the
school was a wrap up session. We took what we learned
out into the field on a pack trip. This experience was
extremely eventful, and it enabled me to use my new
knowledge in a real setting. I had an amazing time. I would
like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at
R.M.S. for helping me fulfill my dream. I would highly
recommend this school to anyone who would like to further
their knowledge of horsemanship, packing or guiding.

I thought the school was great! We had a lot of
different things to cover in a small amount of time, but
I thought you guys did a real good job. Your
knowledge and patience was greatly appreciated.
The after hours help was greatly appreciated Jeff.
I would definitely recommend it to others that want to
go to the back country. The R.M.S. school was much
more than I expected.
